5 Local Summer Dishes to Try

Want to Cook With Us?

fresh food being cut on cuttingboard

One of the most meaningful ways to experience Alentejo is through its food—simple, seasonal, and deeply rooted in the land. At Quinta Camarena, our approach to food is part of our sustainability philosophy: we cook with ingredients grown in our own gardens or sourced from nearby farmers and producers we know personally. With us every dish we share reflects our love for nature, community, and conscious living.

Here are 5 wondeful dishes you can try with us this summer:

1. Melon and avocado gaspacho with a touch of lime and herbs from our garden - the most delicate and refreshing soup you´ll ever eat

2. Zucchini ravioli stuffed with sheep ricotta and wild spinach in tomato sauce - All the flavour without the carbs

3 Cold beet soup with yogurt and dill from our garden - you´ll love it even if you hate beets, we promise

4.Velvety rice with broccoli and shrimp for vegetarians and seafoodlovers

5. Gluten free peach pie with wild flowers - just a sample of all our healthy deserts

🍷 Want to try these delicacies? Book your spot with us this July.

We host seasonal cooking workshops at the Quinta—easygoing, hands-on sessions where we cook (and eat!) together in the garden kitchen.

It’s about more than recipes—it’s about connecting to the land, the traditions, and each other.
