The Family Holiday That Doesn't Feel Like One

We get asked a lot about families with teenagers, grown-up kids, or a mix of generations where everyone has slightly different ideas about what a good holiday looks like.

It's one of our favourite conversations to have, because it's the one where we feel most confident saying: we think you'll find what you're looking for here.

No Schedule to Keep

Each day has a relaxed shape to it. There's always something on, but none of it is compulsory:

  • Surf lessons, SUP and yoga

  • Guided tastes of the local area

  • Forested hillside walks above the property

  • Or simply nothing at all — by the pool, on the terrace, at your own pace

That's not a gap in the programme. That's the point.

A House, Not a Hotel

Multi-generational groups often take our four-bedroom country house — its own kitchen, generous shared spaces, room to spread out without getting in each other's way. You're not being looked after. You're just together.

  • Farm-to-table food that brings people to the table

  • Resident dogs, cats and chickens (people always mention the animals)

  • Small by design, so it actually works

The Coast Is Right There

Some of Portugal's least visited coastline is on our doorstep:

  • Surfing, paddleboarding and kayaking within a short drive

  • Beaches that suit first-timers and experienced surfers alike

  • Coastal trails and quiet fishing villages

  • A landscape that takes a few days to properly absorb

It's the kind of place that looks better the more time you spend in it. Which is, we think, exactly the right kind of place to bring the people you love.

If this sounds like the trip you've been trying to plan, we'd love to hear from you.
